Known Issues in Diablo 4 PTR

The Diablo 4 PTR Patch 2.0 has officially launched! Here’s an overview of the known issues that players should be aware of:

  • Patch 2.0 Highlights
  • Important notes regarding the patch
  • Updates on gem modifications
  • Enhancements to D4planner
  • Summary of Campfire Chat focused on Patch 2.0

Be advised that the following issues have been recognized by the development team and will be present when the PTR goes live. There is no need to create new threads regarding these topics if they arise:

  1. Infernal Hordes Warning
  2. Players are advised to avoid engaging with Infernal Hordes, as doing so may cause the game client to become unresponsive.

  3. Barbarian Glyph Concern

  4. The legendary power increase for the Barbarian glyph "Revenge" is incorrectly displayed as a percentage increase.

  5. Hemorrhage Paragon Node Issue

  6. The benefit from the Hemorrhage legendary paragon node for Barbarians does not align with the tooltip’s formula.

  7. Charge Skill Glitch

  8. When using the Barbarian's Charge skill to defeat Animus holders, the dropped anima may fall over walls.

  9. Shred Skill Bug

  10. The fourth attack of the Shred skill continues to function even after the associated item is unequipped.

  11. Druid Glyph Scaling Problem

  12. The starting glyphs received by Druids do not scale with Willpower, which differs from the scaling mechanics of other classes.

  13. Prime Grizzly Rage Upgrade Flaw

  14. Activating Grizzly Rage does not grant the character the “Unstoppable” bonus as intended when using the Prime Grizzly Rage upgrade.

  15. Lacerate Duration Issue

  16. Tempers that increase the duration of Lacerate may lead to temporary immobility for the character after stealth is activated.

Stay tuned for further updates as the team works to resolve these issues!- The affix "Mad Wolf’s Glee" incorrectly displays a tooltip of 3 levels for werewolf skills, when it actually adds 2 levels.

  • When using the "Wolves" companion skill, the bonus percentage for storm or nature magic damage does not apply if equipped with the unique pants "Storm’s Companion."

  • There are observed inconsistencies in the tooltips for some unique staffs belonging to the druid class.

  • The skill "Nature’s Fury" fails to trigger the "Hurricane" effect when casting "Boulder" while utilizing the Metamorphic Stone aspect.

  • The upgrade for the "Fierce Maul" skill does not stack with item affixes that increase maul size.

  • The "Obsidian Slam" skill allows the overpower buff to be consumed by abilities that do not deal damage.

  • Players are able to move while channeling the "Lacerate" skill by holding down the left mouse button.

  • The buff icon for "Lupine Ferocity" still reflects an outdated hit requirement of 6, rather than the current 3.

  • In the "Unmaker" zone, buff effects do not carry over during zone transfers.

  • On the Paragon board "Hulking Monstrosity," additional bonuses for dexterity glyphs cannot be obtained at glyph level 15.

  • This issue is also present in similar boards, like the sorceress’s "Frigid Fate."

  • Several necromancer abilities are experiencing tooltip discrepancies due to a merge conflict, including "Reap," "Hemorrhage," "Bone Splinters," "Blight," and "Corpse Tendrils."

  • If a player changes the golem upgrade before it respawns and then enters, an error is generated that prevents the golem from respawning.

  • The combination of "Sever" with "Greaves of the Empty Tomb" does not produce additional desecrated ground from the altered skill.

  • The damage bonus from "Wither" is not capped at 1200 intelligence, as intended.- Players using Blood Moon Breeches may find themselves cursed by their own minions.

  • There are inconsistencies in stacking Shadow Blight when Sever is combined with Desecrated Ground.

  • The Bone Golem experiences a delay in corpse shedding after leaping and landing.

  • Abhorrent Decrepify's cooldown reduction can only be activated by the Reaper Army, neglecting other minions.

  • The chance to cast Bone Splinters twice with the Tempered Affix while using Tragoul’s Bone Prison results in overlapping missiles.

  • Blood Mist only inflicts damage during the first three seconds, regardless of increased duration.

  • Minions often fail to inherit the damage multipliers from the Necromancer.

  • The tooltip for Unyielding Commander inaccurately represents its effect as multiplicative.

  • Dance of Knives cannot be cast after rapidly tapping the skill until all charges are depleted and it resets.

  • The Advanced Penetrating Shot may cause Goatman Brutes to be knocked down more than once.

  • The improved Flurry upgrade may not function as intended when trying to dash to a target.

  • Vyr's Mastery key passive is accumulating excessive multiplicative damage bonuses, enabling players to one-shot bosses.

  • The Familiar skill always counts as a fire skill, allowing players to gain stacks of Enlightenment.

  • Waves Shock Charge continues to persist even after the removal of the Charged Flash legendary affix.

  • The Familiar skill does not benefit from the Shocking Impact passive.

  • Visual effects for the Familiar skill may vanish entirely or become invisible upon its initial use after using other skills.

  • Hydras, Ice Blades, and Familiar exhibit erratic behavior with various Lucky Hit affixes.

Game Update Issues Summary

  • The additional incinerate beams do not respond to the size increase affixes for incinerate.

  • When using the Starfall Coronet, the crit bonus from Elementalist fails to activate for the Meteor skill.

  • Recent updates have adjusted unique items to include changes in the four primary character stats and maximum life.

  • However, the tooltips for these items on the PTR will not reflect these updates.

  • Therefore, players may notice discrepancies where the tooltip indicates one value, but the actual server performance is slightly lower.

  • The following unique items are impacted:

  • Barbarian:

    • Ancient's Oath
    • Overkill
    • Fields of Crimson
    • Hellhammer
    • The Third Blade
  • Druid:

    • Mjolnic Ring
    • Stone of Vehemence
    • Fleshrender
    • Mad Wolf’s Glee
  • Necromancer:

    • Bloodless Scream
    • Blood Artisan’s Cuirass
    • The Mortacrux
  • Rogue:

    • Condemnation
    • Scoundrel’s Leathers
    • Eyes in the Dark
  • Sorceress:

    • Staff of Endless Rage
    • Raiment of the Infinite
    • The Oculus
    • Staff of Lam Esen
    • Flamescar
    • Starfall Coronet
    • Iceheart Brais
    • Vox Omnium
  • Players may experience issues with the "joined party" modal, which cannot be closed after joining a listing.

  • Additionally, selecting the current party button may cause crashes if someone joins while it is selected. It's advisable to avoid using this feature for now.- The tier range for “the pit” activity fails to accommodate controller input properly.

  • In “the pit” and similar activities where party changes are restricted, the party finder can become unresponsive upon attempting to join.

  • Dropdowns on the “list a party” tab can be modified after navigating away and returning to the tab.

  • When using the “quick list in party finder,” selecting a map icon tooltip results in the placement of the map pin instead of the intended action.

  • Party leaders are able to list parties for content that is not available at their current difficulty level.

  • A player’s portrait does not appear when creating a new character or changing appearance while trying to list a party.

  • The search string for unavailable parties is cut off when large font settings are in use.

  • An empty party remains visible even after a player disconnects from the server.

  • Only helltide whisper bounties currently support the quick list feature in the party finder.

  • Players are unable to complete the haunted refuge dungeon in the PTR; it is advisable to steer clear of this dungeon.

  • The attack move speed bonus on kill does not influence the playable character.

  • The increased critical hit chance affix becomes ineffective after entering a nightmare dungeon.

  • Various dungeon events do not provide greater radiant chests upon achieving mastery.

  • Elemental totems appear and disappear within mere seconds.

  • Players can upgrade their skills while inside the pit.

  • Portal visual effects persist when a party leader leaves the pit.

  • The cooldown period for the feo rune is set at 15 seconds rather than the intended 20 seconds.

  • The zec rune, when used alongside the zan rune, fails to function correctly on certain ultimate skills.

Game Mechanics and Issues

  • Summons and pets controlled by players do not contribute to the progression of runic power.

  • Access to rune crafting through the jeweler is restricted based on character level and torment levels.

  • The torment tiers quest repeatedly resets after being initiated.

  • Class mechanic quests cannot be finalized while using the PTR cheat vendor if they are already in progress.

  • The Shattered Vow weapon obtained from the PTR cache incorrectly displays a placeholder icon.

  • Blood Harvest counter UI icons appear inconsistently when players join or leave a party.

  • The priority quest "Eyes of the Enemy" is automatically assigned to players on the expert difficulty.

  • Several stash edit icon options are lacking visual representation.

  • The quest "By Three They Come" may become unresponsive after defeating all required enemies.

  • Chest overlaps in Nightmare Dungeons can interfere with interaction at the dungeon's conclusion.

  • Final tuning adjustments have been made to PTR numbers.

  • Items carried over from Season 5, classified as legacy, will have their affixes maxed out, with the exception of legendary items and tempering.

  • Experience point tiers for quests decrease the XP scalar only until level 60; thereafter, they revert to the level 1 quest reward scalar for paragon levels.

  • Players may not receive experience or gold rewards for completing certain local events.

  • Whisper caches yield gear with a lower item power level than anticipated for the player's current level.

  • Players have the option to create a seasonal character.

  • However, player characters should not be able to enter with a seasonal character.

  • The bonus from "Heir of Perdition" for angels and demons operates on a multiplicative basis rather than additive.

  • Capped armor items do not display a green highlight as expected.- Effects that provide unlimited resources, such as Mjölnir’s Ring and Inner Sight, do not interact correctly with mechanics that monitor resource expenditure, including Ancestral Guidance and Banished Lord’s Talisman.

  • The barrier produced by the Temerity skill is showing inconsistent behavior.

  • The Blood Boiling effect, designed to enable skills to overpower every 20 seconds, is not functioning as intended in the pit environment.

  • Several legendary affix values have undergone more significant reductions than anticipated due to the recent progression updates.

  • Certain tempering recipes still allow for random rolls of five affixes, which will be addressed before the official launch.

  • Engaging with Infernal Hordes is discouraged, as it can cause your game client to become unresponsive.

  • Gambling vendors may fail to provide any items to players during transactions.

  • Nightmare Dungeons are currently not awarding the correct experience points, and players do not receive gold upon completing these dungeons.

  • Rewards in Scosglen become inconsistent after level 25, particularly when players unlock tier 2.

  • Players can begin collecting Masterworking materials starting at level 50.

  • The Tempering tab will be automatically accessible from level 1.

  • Elemental Surge recipes are only available after reaching expert difficulty.

  • Additional passive bonuses from various glyphs do not display in the character details while in town.

  • There are discrepancies between the required quantities for summoning bosses and what is shown in tooltips.

  • Paragon experience is not being awarded from Whisper turn-ins.

  • There is a missing label error in the tooltip summary for the legendary bonus associated with equipping legendary glyphs.

  • Damage shields on monsters are not scaling correctly under the new progression changes.

  • Monsters that acquire barriers or shields may exhibit significantly higher shield health than expected.

Gameplay Issues and Updates

  • The gems crafting interface indicates a lock symbol on gems that once required a level for access when interacting with any jeweler.

  • A missing string is displayed for the nightmare sigil drops from nightmare dungeons, particularly when the reduced cooldown on kill affix is active.

  • Experience points awarded from renown are not appropriately scaling to the player's conditions when claiming season 6 renown rewards.

  • Items obtained from march of the goblin caches do not align with level 50/520 ipower standards during the transition to season 6.

  • In certain cases, placeholder items may appear instead of the expected actual items.

  • The alchemist’s incense crafting menu reflects a lock icon on incenses that had a level requirement prior to the progression updates.

  • Crafting the elixir of precision II incurs a cost of 200 resources.

  • Upon activating a keyed dungeon, a pop-up banner appears, displaying the tier number from the world difficulty.

  • NMD keys, along with any keys that previously showed a tier number, continue to display this tier number.

  • All legendary glyph bonuses currently lack their corresponding attribute labels.

  • Multiple paragon glyphs are either missing tooltip descriptions or have incorrect displays.

  • Several paragon glyphs are incorrectly tagged or lack essential keywords.

  • The legendary bonus from equipping legendary glyphs is missing icons when the starting glyphs are upgraded to legendary status.

  • Legendary paragon glyphs incorrectly provide a bonus to critical strike damage rather than overall damage. We hope you are enjoying the season of the Infernal Hordes, supported by our comprehensive guides.
